This project involved rehabilitating the concrete travel lanes and interchange ramps on interstate I-275 from South 62nd Ave. to north of Gandy Blvd. in Saint Petersburg, Florida.

A grinding process was used on both old and new concrete slabs after the rehabilitation was completed to provide a smooth uniform roadway surface.

Other improvements consisted of:

  • Milling and resurfacing the shoulders of I-275 and Gandy Blvd.
  • Milling and resurfacing Gandy Blvd. at I-275
  • Replacing the traffic signal at the northbound I-275 exit ramp to westbound Gandy Blvd.
  • Installing a traffic monitoring site (ITS)
  • Upgrades to concrete bridge traffic railings

A traffic control plan was developed to minimize inconvenience to the traveling public. Lane closures and ramp closures were be restricted during holiday periods and special events. Only one ramp could beclosed at a time.
