Governor Rick Scott Launches Pensacola Bay Bridge Replacement Project

Posted on 2017-06-27 by Jessica Brockmeier

Genesis is excited to announce that Governor Rick Scott was on site to celebrate the official launch of the Pensacola Bay Bridge Replacement project! This project is the largest transportation infrastructure project in Northwest Florida history, and the State of Florida is investing $398.5 million for the new bridge.

Genesis CEI is a major subconsultant to Eisman & Russo, Inc., on this new bridge that will expand from Escambia County to Santa Rosa County. This design-build project includes constructing two new bridges across Pensacola Bay to replace the previous bridge built in 1960. These bridges are a major east/west corridor and will serve as a hurricane evacuation route. The new bridges will be constructed parallel and immediately to the west of the existing bridge and have three 12-foot travel lanes, a 65-foot vertical clearance, and 150-foot horizontal clearance for marine traffic.
